Are you or do you know the parent or guardian of a child or children with a physical disability that requires transportation from school and home? Many parents don’t realize that under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), the transportation of your child to school is the responsibility of the school. You are entitled to free transportation to and from school on a certified vehicle and state approved driver that will assist your child. This article will help parents understand the IDEA and will give you some really helpful informational how you can make sure that your child is receiving the benefits they need to go to school.

Most women typically only buy 3-4 gifts a year for their spouses or boyfriends – birthday, Christmas, anniversary and valentines. For some people this is a pretty easy task and they seem to have a natural ability to discern what their man wants.  However, if you are alike all the rest of us, picking out presents are often very tough, especially when you’re buying fro the guy that seems to have everything. Here are a few things to keep in mind when picking out presents for the man in your life.

Buying a gift for the guy that has everything can be broken down into two separate categories; Items that he wants and items that he needs. Before starting out, write down a list of his hobbies, things he’ said about his job, heck if you really want some ideas for what to get him just keep a pen and paper by the couch when you guys watch TV. I guarantee he’s already given you a dozen ideas off of ads of TV.

Most women tend to wear a different bag for evening attire and daytime as well as for different looks be it formal or informal. It would look kind of strange lugging a huge bag over your shoulder and a night club. That’s kind of like wearing a backpack to a wedding. It just doesn’t fit!  Here is a basic list of top tips all women should know about handbags; what to put in them and what types are appropriate and fashionable.

What should you carry in your purse?

 This is a pretty important decision that we need to make before going out for the day or night. If you are going more than a few blocks it’s probably not going to be possible to make a “quick” pit stop back at the house to pick up a forgotten wallet or something. . Some of the most important and basic things you should carry in all your bags are makeup, credit cards and ID, cash, cell phone, pen, wet wipes, safety pins, car keys, and tissues. Although this might seem like a lot you will probably need most if not all of these things on a daily basis.

Today’s piece was inspired by one of the younger girls in my writing class. She came in to class today in a pretty ticked off mood. Me, being the angel that I am (yeah right) decide to pay her a compliment to hopefully lift her day.  I told her that her outfit looked great and asked where she got it. The girl looked at me like I had just asked to borrow her deodorant. After a brief awkward silence the girl muttered a curt “thanks” and walked away without another word.  So Ms. “I’m too good to acknowledge your compliments” this piece is for you.

Although I’m sure today’s instance was a little out of the norm and that most women would usually at least pretend to share a courtesy when complimented there are an alarmingly large amount of younger girls that simply have no sense of courtesy or respect when they are trapped in their own little worlds.

Asking out a guy isn’t as taboo as it once was even 10 years ago. It’s perfectly natural for a girl to ask out a guy if she’s interested in him. In fact, you’d be surprised how many guys have probably wanted to ask you out built were too afraid or nervous to. Here are some tried and true methods for asking out that special guy.

Step 1 – Be prepared. If you’re going to ask him out then make sure you have at least a general ideas as to what you are going to say. The great thing about teens these days is that they have a tool that we older women never even imagined using. The internet is a great place to find information on this subject. A simple Google search will yield literally thousands of sample conversations or “lines” you can use when asking out a guy.  

Botox has revolutionized the cosmetic health care industry by being one of the only products on the market that delivers on its promises of eliminating problem wrinkles and imperfections on in our skin. The biggest question most women have when deciding to get a Botox treatment done is whether it is safe or not. Everyone has seen or heard about horror stories of Botox injections gone wrong. Additionally many women have no idea what Botox is or actually does once it’s injected. After all Botox is simply a watered down form of botchilism, a fatal type of skin infection.    

Botox has been around since the late 1960’s when it was originally used to help patients that suffered from a disease that made their eyes permanently cross. The Botox deadened the nerves around the area of the eyes and relaxed them so that the muscles didn’t constrict, and therefore the eyes no longer crossed. The treatment would typically last between 3-6 months and then would be continued indefinitely. Since then Botox’s applications have been sued in a large variety of different cosmetic procedures and surgeries for various effects.

As we women get older, monitoring our blood pressure becomes more and more important to our overall health. Here are a few tips that can help you regulate your blood pressure safely and quickly.

 Quit smoking. It should go without saying that smoking is dangerous to your health. Quitting smoking will not only lower your blood pressure, but it will also significantly reduce your risk of several types of cancers and other respatory diseases and complications.  Smoking is main risk factor for atherosclerosis. Smoking also inhibits oxygen travel and increases cholesterol as well as the risk of heart disease.

Weight. There is a direct link between obesity and blood pressure. No matter how much you monitor and try and regulate your blood pressure, if you have a weight problem then you are fighting an uphill battle. Not only will you have a hard time lowering your blood pressure but you also run a much higher risk of diabetes. Even something as simple as cutting out 300 calories out of your daily diet can make massive improvements to your overall health.

The first ads to depict women in anything other than a wholesome image started with what else: alcohol and adult entertainment. This trend of “sex sells” has infected practically every single commercial market in the world to the point where now public backlash has even reached supposed kid-friendly companies like Disney or other kid-focused industries. It seems like it doesn’t matter what you are selling; a beautiful model simply MUST be in the ad. What’s worse? That no one seems to care anymore…like maybe this has been the norm for so long that the injustice of using a woman’s body to promote anything from hair gel (yes AXE we’re talking to you) and Hamburgers (Hardees’s) doesn’t seem to be a big deal anymore.

When you ask most kids today what their favorite game is they will probably rattle off some high-tech video game that you’ve never even heard of before yet alone understand. Remember when the typical answer for this question would have been “Clue” or “Operation”. No, unfortunately board games are becoming less and less popular the farther along in technology the video game industry becomes. However, in these tough economical times, thrifty parents are looking to board games to offer their kids a higher quality of entertainment at a cheaper price.   

Board games are great. There really is something for everyone. Whether you just want a quick puzzle game or an in-depth strategy game board games have everything you could want in a game. Sure they may not have pretty graphics and Dolby surround sound (in fact many board games nowadays do) but board games can offer the same or better entertainment to your kids without plugging them into the anti-social constraints of video games.
