Bra Buying Guide

Underwear is one of the most important parts of your wardrobe, and the type of underwear you choose can have a dramatic effect on how well your clothes fit you, and how good you look in your chosen outfits. There is no point spending hundreds of pounds on expensive clothes if you are not going to invest in some decent underwear as well.

Professional Fitting
Ill-fitting underwear not only looks bad, but it can also cause a whole host of problems from back pain through to feminine hygiene issues. You should get a proper fitting for your bra, especially if you have a big bust as you will need to have adequate support in this area to help prevent back and shoulder pain and improve your posture. You also need to make sure you are buying the right sized panties for your hips and bottom, as very tight underwear can give you unsightly bugles and will also restrict the flow of air through your genital areas, which can aggravate problems such as thrush.

Bras
There are many different styles of bras available on the market, so think about your bust size and shape very carefully and choose styles that emphasis all of your good points.

Full Cup Underwired Bra – this is a very supportive bra design that is perfect for larger, heavier breasts as it covers most of the breast providing strong and practical support in most situations.

Demi Cup Underwired Bra – these bras only cover half the breasts and are ideal for lower necklines. They also lift and separate so are good for creating definition to larger breasts. These bras are quite supportive but you may find it difficult to fit certain styles of shirts and blouses over the top if the bra is pushing the breasts out too far, so you may also want to buy a full cup bar that has a more moderate lift and support function as well.

Padded Bra – these bras have soft padding on the cup lining and are ideal for smaller breasts as they add natural looking shape and volume.

Strapless Bra – you can get multi purpose bras where the straps can be removed, or specially designed strapless bras for wearing under strapless tops and halter tops, and these have more support built into the sides of the bra and cup, which grip the body more tightly to provide the bra support in place of the missing straps.

T-Shirt Bra – these bras are like a small, tight fitting vest tops, and have no visible seams so can be worn under tight fitting t-shirts and tops. They are not wired so there is little support for larger breasts though.

Minimizer Bra – these bras fit tightly around the breast and are very supportive and are often sought out by large breasted women who are having trouble getting clothes to fit properly because their breasts are so big, and will reduce the appearance of larger breasts by between one and two cup sizes.
