How to Brighten Up Tired Eyes

The modern world can be very tiring on your eyes, with pollution, pollen and long hours spent staring at computer and television screens all putting a strain on our sight, and we can soon start to lose the sparkle in what is normally one ofour best assets.
However our eyes are very resilient and there are a number of easy ways you can help to brighten them up again, ready for you to face the day or get ready for a night out on the town.
Camomile Tea
Camomile is very soothing for your eyes, and the easiest way to apply this is to boil the kettle and steep one 100% organic camomile tea bag for 10-15 minutes. When this has cooled slightly remove the teabag and then chill the camomile tea you have made in the fridge for a few hours. Now get two cotton wool pads and gentle soak in the cool camomile tea, squeeze out slightly and then lay back and shut your eyes and place the cotton pads over then. Relax for a few minutes and then refresh the pads with some more cool tea, and then relax again for another few of minutes. You can make up the tea in advance and put it in the fridge for when you get home from work, but remember you must cool the tea completely before you apply it to your delicate eye area.
Cucumber
Chilled cucumber works much in the same way as the camomile tea bags, but has the benefit of being much quicker to use as you will not have to wait for the cucumber to cool down. Simply take the cucumber out of the fridge and cut off two slices and then place over the eyes and relax for a few minutes.
Concealer
If you have been burning the midnight oil lately then you may have dark circles under your eyes, a typical symptom of tiredness and sleep deprivation. The only way to truly get rid of dark circles is to get more sleep, but in the meantime you can use a concealer product to lessen the effect of the circles. Clean your face using a gentle soap or cleanser and then pat dry. Apply a creamy, light coloured concealer under the eye area, but don’t blend it too much as this can spread it too thin, and it will not be so effective. Concealer can look very stark if used alone, so it is best to apply a more natural skin toned foundation or face powder carefully over the top and across the rest of the face to even out the overall tone, and this will also help the concealer to last longer. You could also compliment this with a sweep of white eyeliner on the bottom rim of your eyes (just above the lower lashes), as this will also help your eyes to seem clearer and brighter.
