How To Take A Compliment

Today’s piece was inspired by one of the younger girls in my writing class. She came in to class today in a pretty ticked off mood. Me, being the angel that I am (yeah right) decide to pay her a compliment to hopefully lift her day. I told her that her outfit looked great and asked where she got it. The girl looked at me like I had just asked to borrow her deodorant. After a brief awkward silence the girl muttered a curt “thanks” and walked away without another word.
